THENEWSHIT. GODDAMMIT.

So here is the obligatory My Chemical Romance post. <3

Over the last three days, ever since the website was updated, things have literally gone batshit crazy. There are countless theories as to what it could all mean, and I guess none of us will ever really know for sure until My Chem decide it's time for us to know. However, I do have to say... well done, guys. Well played. As soon as the website was updated, I just thought, FUCK. Stop with all the shit and just give us the goddamn album already! We've already been waiting too long! You're killing me! I'm dying here!

But then as soon as I found the new twitter accounts, I was hooked. Who knows what will eventuate, but already the intrigue and entire new world they have created and the discussions and excitement it has generated is more than worth it. I have decided most of the tweets are just scene setting to encourage excitement and general pandemonium over the new album, and are not part of some greater code or riddle that will reveal the meaning of everything. But I admire them for doing it, has certainly got people talking about it and helps create an atmosphere and context for when the album finally does drop! Most of all however, I am so thankful that my favourite band of all time has shown they are still not afraid to challenge their fans. Both their creativity and genius continue to amaze and inspire me.

I am not going to try and make sense of their whole dystopian, post-apocalyptic, fallout world they seem to have going on, there are more than enough websites doing just that, so google away if you want to delve deeper or just stalk them like I do. But for just here instead, I am going to stick to the facts as they exist, or as I have interpreted them to exist. Hover for source links. :)

The truth as we know it...

After 4 long years, My Chem have a new album coming out in November, as far as I can ascertain. The first single is probably going to be "Na Na Na", supported by the fact it has been played to radio stations in the States already and will be released as a 'Simlish' version for Sims 3 on Oct 26th. There is another song on the album called "Sing". I also had a dream that the album was called SLEEPERRR!, but I doubt this one will pan out...

My theory as I know it...
I also think that the website has been on a nine day countdown since it was updated, which means the countdown stops on Sept 12th. I really believe something will get announced at the VMAs, and the single will be released straight afterwards. I also think that the WKIL channel (WE KILL!) on the radio receiver is the MCR channel and it is trying to tune into them, which will happen around the same time as the single is released.

I cannot tell you how EXCITED I am for all this! Bring it on, boys!

And if they're after me...well, then they're after you...

  1. Okay... I suppose I support your theories...

It's all just a great big mess! I HATE waiting for shit like this. The minute someone says "Wait and see what happens" I fly off the handle. Haha.

In a nut shell, I have no patience. Therefore, I should probably whip out the old CD collection and start getting myself back in to this band. It also might make the time go by faster.

  2. The whole thing with the website is making me nuts. I know it's gonna drive some people away, but it just whets my appetite. And how do you know they album will drop in November? And I don't listen to commercial radio if I can help it; who the hell's been playing a new single???!! Holy shit, I can barely stand this!

*collects self for the sake of appearance*

It just came to me that TUA's Hotel Oblivion series is supposed to hit the shelves next year...could some of this be a hint about those upcoming books?

At this remove, all I really know for sure is that MCR are, collectively, evil geniuses who know how to excite their fans, even if it means confusing and possibly angering them initially. They can make it up to us by releasing the damn cd ASAP and touring all over the place *cough* Milwaukee *cough*

That is all. For now, anyway.

  3. If you mouse hover over the text, my links should show up. But basically saw a pic of a magazine mention that claims November (someone told me it was Rolling Stone, but not sure).

And the single hasn't been released yet, but a radio DJ tweeted that she had heard two songs off the album, but they (record company?) took the CD with them afterwards. But she claims it will probably be released within the next two weeks or so.

I am sure the new album would have some tie in to TUA, dont' see how they could keep the two entirely seperate, but I am just keen to have it already now. :)

  4. Well OK, the sites you linked are blocked here at work, which doesn't surprise me as pretty much anything FUN is classified as blocked. *sigh* Meantime, I'm twitching and listening for signs that my brain is about to implode.
    Cheers, darling!
